Last night’s “Wheel of Fortune” program featured a puzzle that ended up spelling “The Fast and the Furious.” The foreboding puzzle aired directly on the heels of the Paul Walker tragedy.
Producers ran a bug during the telecast explaining, “This episode was taped a few weeks ago, prior to the tragic passing of ‘The Fast and the Furious’ actor Paul Walker.”
TMZ is reporting that just after the show aired, Pat Sajak tweeted, “Feel terrible about timing of ‘Fast & Furious’ puzzle tonight. Taped long ago & went out to 200 local stations days ago.”
Social media has been critical of the airing by those confused as to why producers didn’t simply pull the episode and run it at a more appropriate date.
