Music lovers attending the Vans Warped Tour at the Silverton Casino are getting hammered by the sun with temperatures hitting OVER 115 Fahrenheit as I type! Over 200 people were treated for heat exhaustion, 34 of those ending up in Las Vegas area hospitals. And it’s not over by a long shot, by 5:PM the temps are expected to reach an astonishing 117°, an all-time record high for Las Vegas.
Thirty four patients attending the Vans Warped Tour at the Silverton Casino were taken to area hospitals Friday for heat-related injuries, Clark County spokesman Erik Pappa said.
Another 172 people were treated on-site at the outdoor concert for heat exhaustion, he said. Those receiving treatment on-site were given shade, water and a place to sit down.
Demand for emergency services required the county to call in the Clark County and Henderson fire departments and local ambulance companies. Source.
This heat is also happening right in my own backyard folks! And speaking of backyards, I better get out there and give those plants some extra water!
