Some smart ass surfers posted “Shark Warning” signs at hotspots in Santa Cruz CA., in a winning effort to keep the squids away! Squids are what surfers call surfers who travel from other counties to crash their beloved beaches.. And it ploy worked for a little while..
But soon word got out that the flyers warning of “agressive sharks,” was indeed a fake-out.
It is crystal clear why the local surfers poted the signs, after-all they all live by the slogan, “my beach, my wave.”
The goofy but effective notice told perspective surfers to try and “surf Cowells instead.” Santa Cruz’s less attractive west side beach..
The signs list THREE great white shark attacks that allegedly happened at Capitola Beach, Privates Beach and Rockview Beach on Wednesday.
“Due to the highly aggressive nature of these encounters, it is strongly advised to stay out of the water for 48 hours,” the poster read.
A For effort!
