How frustrating would it be to raise a kid only to have said kid grow up, get rich and famous and then act like you don’t exist… That’s exactly what singer Adele is pulling on her own father.
“I’ve left messages on her phone, I’ve written to her and I’ve sent her birthday and Christmas cards but it’s like I’m dead to her,” Evans told Britain’s Daily Mail. “I’m not interested in her celebrity status or her money. I just want my daughter back, and I want to be a proper granddad to the little one.”
Looks like everything worked out great for Adele, with a newborn son, a Golden Globe, and a scheduled performance at the Oscars, but her own dad is missing out of all the fun, usually reserved for the patriarch, her father, Mark Evans, to whom she hasn’t spoken since 2011.
“I just want normality,” Adele’s pop cried, “I want to be like any other granddad. I’ve got mates who I see with their grandchildren and I can’t bear to watch. It shows me what I’m missing out on.”
