Russian officials have dubbed a recent snowstorm a “snow tsunami,” after a huge wave of of the white measuring in some places as much as 10 feet rolled in and covered entire apartment blocks, markets, offices, cars and in spots resembled a giant wave.

In some Russian cities this snow easily reached second-story windows and completely stranded most of the community forcing them to dig out or die.
