This is one of those footnotes (get it? footnote?) to a story that just makes you scratch your head or as the kid’s call it, SMH…
The incredibly viral story this week about a cop giving a pair of boots to a homeless man resolved in the homeless man removing the shoes… That’s right folks, he’s barefoot again! And get this, he said the boots could have got him killed on the street AND he feels like he’s been ripped off and wants a bigger piece of the money pie! CLASSIC!

When a reporter approached the homeless man to inquired as to the whereabouts of his cop given shoes, the homeless man replied, “Those shoes are hidden, they are worth a lot of money, I could lose my life.” And I guess that’s where the SMH thing comes in…
Now the homeless guy is openly complaining about the fact that he gave no permission for his image to be used on YouTube and every other social media outlet that plastered the events as headline news. “I was put on YouTube,” he told the reporter, “I was put on everything without permission. What do I get? This went around the world, and I want a piece of the pie.”
The random act of kindness was captured on video by an Arizona tourist, who shared the photo with the NYPD. It was then posted on the NYPD’s Facebook page and boom, it went viral, generating more than 600,000 “likes,” 47,000 comments and warmed the cockles of countless hearts.
