MIAMI, FLORIDA. A U.S. Secret Service agent by the name of Aaron Francis Engler was arrested by Miami cops after he was found passed out on the sidewalk just hours after after the president had left the area.
According to a police report,
officers were in the area on an unrelated call when they noticed Engler passed out. When the officers checked on the man he grew combative and started to fight with officers, according to the police report.
The officers then took Engler to the ground and handcuffed him. Once secured, sources said the officers went through Engler’s pockets and discovered his Secret Service identification.
Law enforcement sources said that Engler told police he was an agent out of Washington and was part of the advance team for the president’s visit on Thursday. Once the president left Miami, Engler said he went drinking and got very drunk, law enforcement sources said.
The agency is in a downward spiral and now we have another agent charged with a drunken crime while employed to protect the life of the president… If you remember, it was back in April 2012, a gaggle of agents were involved in a prostitution scandal in Colombia during an advance visit for the president for the Summit of the Americas.
