Two students at Hirsch Metropolitan High School on the South Side of Chicago were transported to the hospital after discovering they had eaten mouse droppings contained in pre-packaged nachos. The treat was part of the kid’s school lunch.
The poor kids ate most of the chips and nachos before they discovered the mouse crap in the bags. The students were taken to a hospital to be tested.
The lunchroom was closed and the kitchen revealed that mice had gotten into a box of bagged nachos and set up shop.
“Yesterday, when the problem was brought to our attention, we took immediate steps to close the kitchen and to provide the students with cold lunches,”
the school district said in a statement.
“At the close of school (Friday), pest control will be onsite at the facility to alleviate any remaining issues,”
it said.
“Throughout the weekend, we will be at the school to ensure the problem has been fully eradicated and that the kitchen will back in operation before the start of school on Monday.”
