Shock: Facebook Quickly Losing Favor Among Young

Facebook commands over 900 million users but an alarming new report says a key demographic is quickly slipping away.

A sampling of young people by the Los Angeles Times revealed that many feel the social network no longer has a coolness factor and that one of the reasons may be the overall perception that FB caters more to “mom types”.

So what are kids turning to for their social media fix? Apparently, Twitter, Tumblr, texting, and any mobile app allowing the them more privacy especially from from Mom and Dad.

Facebook is winner with older folks with a higher proportion of 50- to 64-year-old users than any other social network with the exception of LinkedIn.
