Columbus, Ohio. Police shot two men – in the past week – reportedly high on “bath salts” and despite the name, there is no similarity to the salts used for a relaxing dip in a bathtub this is a drug that is sold at head-shops and convenience stores. Police say use of the drug is turning users violent.

To help Ohio residents with drug addiction issues, rehabs compiled a list of Ohio addiction resources that they can count on to give them the treatment information they need.

As Drugs Blamed For More Mayhem

Some likened bath salts to LSD and PCP while others say it is more of a speedy coke high. Now reports of hallucinations and paranoia are becoming more common mostly from folks double-dosing.

Kevin Boozer, 28, was killed by SWAT Officers after he wielded a knife threatening his girlfriend and relatives blamed bath salts for making him violent.

“These drugs, even on first use, can dramatically change a person’s perception of reality,” professionals say, the salts “can make a person feel everyone is out to get them. People need to stay away from them.”

Officers also responded to a call that Steven P. Lindsey, 28, broke into his own house and investigators believe he locked himself out. Police said Lindsey fired on them when they arrived and officers fired back, shooting Lindsey in the hand..

As of now there is no drug screens for bath salts and police and health care providers rely on patients to admit using the drugs.
