We Did It! Starbucks Won’t Be Killing Cochineal Bugs for Food Dye Anymore!

After my story here at TheCount.com went viral about Starbucks using dead bugs for food coloring, Starbucks listened to all of us and has made a positive change! Way to go to everyone who shared that story! Thank you.

Starbucks just announced, that they are going to STOP using Cochineal Beetle bug extract in their Strawberry Frappuccinos and Red Velvet Whoopee Pies, and use Lycopene (tomato extract) to get that reddish color instead!

The company says the items will be reformulated by the end of June.

If we the people have so much power to change things for the better, we should plan our next positive change for another major company! Leave your ideas in the comments!
