A new documentary about the notorious ‘West Memphis 3′, which is the name that was given to 3 teen boys who were locked up and wrongfully accused of killing a child in 1993, was shown at Sundance Film Festival yesterday.
A documentary before this one shown at Sundance, was put out back in 1996, which questioned if the teens really killed the child.
The case and documentary then intrigued celebrities like Eddie Vedder, Johnny Depp, and then Peter Jackson got involved more recently, and funded this new documentary with his wife Fran.
“West of Memphis”, Directed by Amy Berg, takes you through all the 18 years of torture the 3 teens, who are now adults, had to ensue.
Damien Echols from the ’3′, was a guest of honor at the Sundance documentary premiere yesterday.
