The bathroom camera has done it’s job, dramatically reducing gang members from leaving graffiti behind, and the best thing of all is, the camera is a decoy. The fake camera has been extremely effective and since it doesn’t record, the store is breaking no privacy laws.
“It’s an amazing, low cost way to stop folks from defacing property, stealing or anything else undesirable,” say security professional, Cab Callo, “bad guys just assume they are being recorded on video and stay on their best behavior.”
The decoy cameras are available in different styles and some use motion detection, flashing a red light as soon as someone occupies the area. Others even move as if to scan larger areas.
And talk about cost effective, the decoys are priced way below the cost of a real video security system and work like a charm.
