Beverly Hills detectives went to serve a search warrant last night to a possible male suspect who might have been involved in the shooting of famous Hollywood Publicist Ronni Chasen. At about 6 p.m. when they found the man at his apartment complex- “Harvey Apartments” in Santa Monica, CA, and tried to speak with him about the death of 64-year-old Ronni Chasen, who was shot and killed last month as she drove home from the “Burlesque” movie premiere in Hollywood, the man pulled a handgun out and shot himself, leaving blood splattered on the lobby floor. The shocking suicide left authorities’ questions unanswered about the slaying that has stunned Hollywood. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Beverly Hills police Chief David Snowden told The Associated Press in an e-mail that the man “was a person of interest only” in Chasen’s death in Beverly Hills. Gil Carrillo, who is an ex police lieutenant of the L.A.P.D. said that the shots to Chasen’s chest were “center mass” and done by a professional hit man group, and professional hit men do not leave traces of evidence, nor do they shoot herself and commit suicide.
Police spokesman Tony Lee emphasized at a news conference that the murder investigation was not over.
