Men cut a humpback whale after it was declared dead by veterinarians, on Geriba beach in Buzios, 192 kilometers (119 miles) from Rio de Janeiro, October 27, 2010. The whales migrate north from Antarctica to mate from July to November off the coast of Brazil. The whale died after the rescue workers failed for the second straight day to tow the whale off the beach.
