Go Iran! Job well done! You’ve got a great looking robot on your hands! I’ve got to give you props for coming out public with the cloning thing too. America loves keeping projects secret over down the street in Area 51. Wish we could see the American robot next!
I am not sure if Iran’s “Surena” has a gender, and Surena not only does ‘sensitive’ work, but he/she also does more ‘difficult’ work that a human cannot handle. One conclusion that Surena could be a possible male, is that he/she is named after an ancient Persian warrior.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad unveiled Surena on Saturday. Surena is 1.45 metres (4.7 feet) tall and weighs 45 kilograms (99 pounds).
“Walking slowly like human beings with regular arm and leg movements are among its characteristics.” “Such robots are designed and developed to be used in sensitive and difficult jobs on behalf of a person or as help.”
The report did not elaborate on the robot’s capabilities, but at least they showed him/her off!
