If you guys are like me then you spent the past holiday weekend glued to your television watching The Twilight Zone marathon for nearly three days. What’s that? You have friends and family, you spent time with them? Oh, that’s cool too, I guess.
Well, Sci Fi Channel, the home of Battlestar Galactica, Scare Tactics and countless reruns of Rod Serling’s greatest work has now officially changed its name. No longer is it the Sci Fi Channel but instead it’s SyFy. More like sighFy.
We’ve known about this for a few months but it still doesn’t make the change less confusing or just plain silly. What does SyFy mean? The channel says that is broadens horizons for the cable network, enabling them to show more fantasy, reality and action-adventure programs. Yeah, because that’s the first thing I thought of when I saw SyFy.
Whatever the reason, enjoy SyFy. I guess the one upside is that it’s a fun name to type.
