ALBUQUERQUE, NM. (THECOUNT) — Angelica Baca has been identified as the victim in a fatal street racing crash in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Saturday night.

Baca, 39, was struck and killed Saturday night in southeast Albuquerque when two cars possibly street racing hit her and then veered into an apartment building, according to Albuquerque police.

Officials say Baca was on-foot when she was struck by a car that was traveling at a high rate of speed on Louisiana Blvd SE near Gibson Blvd SE, in Albuquerque, NM. That vehicle ended up crashing into an apartment building after hitting Baca.

Police are determining whether the driver was street racing at the time of the fatal crash.

The driver was taken into custody by military police.

Three unidentified passengers were transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.

Kirtland Air Force Base officials confirmed that the four people inside the car are airmen.
