GREENSBORO, NC. (THECOUNT) — Jermaine Tyrone McCain, of Reidsville, North Carolina has been identified as the victim shot and killed in Greensboro early Saturday morning.

McCain, 27, was found suffering from at least one gunshot wound while in the 4100 block of Spring Garden Street at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday.

Police were summoned on calls of shots fired Saturday morning in what turned out to be the sixth homicide of the year in Greensboro, according to police.

McCain was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.

The case is being investigated as a homicide, say officials.

There is no word on any suspects, motive or exactly what led up to the fatal shooting.
