Daniel Duignam, a third-year business student at Temple University, was named by PA authorities as the young man found murdered in his Philadelphia residence. Police say there were no signs of a struggle or forced entry into the home.

Duignam, 21, was found shot to death in his apartment complex located on the 1700 block of Diamond Street just before 10 p.m. Saturday. He was pronounced dead at the scene from gunshot wounds to his stomach, arm, and face.

Neighbors said they were “stunned” hearing of the young man’s senseless murder, calling it “tragic news.” Friends said they saw the victim less than 48 hours before he was found shot dead.

“He sits on the side. He smokes his cigarettes in the mornings. You may see him in the afternoon. He was cool,” Nicole, who did not give her last name, said. “It’s shocking that a young man lost his life in his own home.” source

Nazareth Area High School tweeted about the 12-year-old’s passing saying they were in disbelief:

“It is with great sadness and utter disbelief having lost a member of the Blue Eagle Basketball family at such a young age. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Duignam family,” the tweet read.
