Casey Affleck put a ring on Summer Joy Phoenix in 2006 and they stayed together for 10 years, announcing their separation in 2016. Affleck and Phoenix have two children together – son, Indiana August, born on May 31, 2004, and son Atticus, born on January 12, 2008.
Phoenix’s siblings include – Joaquin Phoenix, River Phoenix, Rain Phoenix and Liberty Phoenix. Legend has it parents, the parents met while hitch-hiking as part of the religious cult the Children of God, where they worked as missionaries and fruit pickers. Casey Affleck is of course the brother of actor, Ben Affleck.

Casey Affleck and estranged wife Phoenix actually met in 1995 through Phoenix’s brother, actor Joaquin, when he was working with Affleck on the movie To Die For. Affleck and Phoenix became friendly but didn’t actually date until the year 2000 as Affleck told The Daily Beast: She was going out with someone else and I said, ‘Man she’s cute,’ and [Joaquin] said, ‘You should see if she’ll got out with … don’t worry about that dude.’ So he was leaving town one day and said, ‘My sister’s in my apartment and she’s all by herself – would you mind checking in on her?’ h/t heavy
Affleck and Phoenix starred together in “Committed” where a young woman goes in search of her midlife crisis suffering husband who left her.
“I’ve never had a diamond before, and now I’ve got a diamond surrounded by other diamonds and diamonds in places where, frankly, you don’t need diamonds at all, and I would have been happy with a piece of twine. So, yes, of course I said, yes,” Phoenix said in an interview with The Guardian in 2004 when she was four months pregnant with Indiana, who was born in Amsterdam while Affleck was filming Ocean’s Twelve.
