NE Man Cody Bates ID’d As Victim In Thursday Night Omaha Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash

DOUGLAS COUNTY, NE. (THECOUNT) — Cody J. Bates, of Gretna, Nebraska, has been identified as the victim in a single-vehicle crash in Douglas County Thursday night.

Bates, 22, was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Omaha Thursday night.

According to reports, Bates was operating vehicle on S 156th St near W Center Rd in Omaha, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway Thursday night. The vehicle then went airborne, traveled over a bridge embankment and wrecked into Papillion Creek.

Bates was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Janice Haley ID’d As Gretna VA Victim In Fatal Franklin US 220 Crash Wednesday

Janice Haley has been identified by Virginia State Police as the victim in a fatal crash that occurred on U.S. 220 in Franklin, Virginia, Wednesday.

Haley, 28, was operating a 2001 Saturn L200 just south of Route 693 in Franklin County when the vehicle left the roadway, crossed the median and struck a 2005 Ford pickup truck.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials identified the driver of the Ford as Keith Shelton McConnell, 47, of Glade Hill. He was transported to the hospital with injuries sustained in the crash. The severity of his injuries were not immediately provided. Continue reading
