Oklahoma SURPASSES California In Earthquakes

As of mid-June, Oklahoma has surpassed California in seismic activity.

This year, the midwestern state, known more in the past for tornados, experienced 207 quakes magnitude 3.0 or greater, compared with California’s 140.

The spike in earthquakes began in 2009 when 20 struck, followed by 43 the next year and increasing every year except for 2012. The state now averages about 6 quakes daily. Continue reading
