LOS ANGELES, CA. (THECOUNT) — A growing number of social media influencers have died in 2026, with reported cases involving suspected suicides, medical emergencies, accidents and fatal violence. Among those who died in October alone are German game creator Manuel Otto, 30; Indian finance influencer V. Harish, 27; Australian model and swimwear designer Sahara Ray, 34; Ecuadorian conjoined twin creators José Luis Cevallos and José Armando Cevallos, both 27; and reality television personality Mackayla “Kash” Paige, 29.

Otto, creator of the multiplayer video game Stick Run, died following an incident during a livestream, according to recent reports. A statement from the game’s representatives said he appeared to have taken his own life but did not provide an official determination of the cause of death.

An Otto representative asked for privacy for family members during this difficult time.

In India, Harish, who operated the online brand Finance With Harish and reportedly had more than one million followers, was found dead at a rented property near Muttukadu, outside Chennai. Police are investigating his death as a suspected suicide.

Harish’s father has alleged that online harassment and public accusations by another influencer contributed to his son’s distress. The complaint names Jason Samuel, who has denied cyberbullying Harish. Samuel said he had questioned Harish’s credentials and authorization to provide financial advice. Police are investigating the allegations, and no official finding has established that the alleged harassment caused Harish’s death.

Ray, founder of the swimwear label Sahara Ray Swim, died in a hospital on Sunday, October 18, surrounded by family, according to an announcement from her loved ones.

Her cause of death has not been publicly confirmed. Ray, the daughter of Australian surfer Tony Ray, built a following through modeling, swimwear design and social media. She welcomed a daughter earlier this year.

The Cevallos brothers, known on Instagram as “siamesesdelecuador,” died on October 15. A close friend told Spanish media that José Luis experienced cardiac arrest and was briefly stabilized before José Armando suffered a heart attack. Both brothers died, according to the friend’s account.

They had attracted more than 60,000 Instagram followers by sharing aspects of their daily lives.

In Oakland, California, influencer and reality star, Mackayla “Kash” Paige, 29, was fatally shot on October 11.

Her sister, Vernika Dunbar, was arrested and charged in connection with the shooting. Authorities have not established guilt unless and until the case is resolved in court.

The reported October deaths span countries, professions and circumstances. Although the number of losses is striking, investigators have not established a connection between these cases, and available reporting does not establish whether influencer deaths have increased compared with previous years.

The circumstances vary substantially. Otto’s representatives described what appeared to happen during a livestream, Harish’s death and the allegations involving Samuel remain under investigation, and Ray’s family has not publicly confirmed a cause of death. Information about the Cevallos brothers’ final medical emergencies came from a close friend.

The losses extend well beyond October. Other influencers and online personalities reported dead earlier in 2026 include Spanish streamer Sergio Jiménez; Malaysian TikTok creator Athira Auni; Brazilian influencer Isabel Veloso; Italian influencer Yulia Burtseva; Nigerian creator Esther Thomas; Mexican trucking influencer Isaac Efraín Valadez, known as Chakin Valadez; lifestyle creator Lula Lahfah of Indonesia; British pageant titleholder and online personality Eleisha Skinner; Myanmar social media personality Tin Zaw Htwe; Memphis-based creator and rapper Jimmy McMahan, known as Whyte Folkz; and content creator Sara Bennett, who shared her experience living with ALS. Also reported dead were podcaster Jordy Glassner, who documented her battle with a brain tumor; cancer-awareness creator Damiano Alberti; influencer Emma Amit; and Indian creator Chinnu Papu.

Other names in published 2026 creator-death roundups include Czech influencer and MMA fighter Dominika “Mina” Elischerova; Colombian creator David Alejandro Peláez Marín, known as Alejo Little; Rachel Tussey; Chinese influencer Wang Weiqian; Zepa; Brazilian creator Carlos Filhar; fitness influencer Mara Flávia; Finnish hiking creator Ali Leiniö; TikTok personality Patriotic Kenny; Paola Márquez; and Yu-Gi-Oh! content creator Alex Cimo. The list also includes Jill Smokler, founder of Scary Mommy. Their reported circumstances vary, including illness, accidents, medical emergencies and suspected criminal acts. The cause of death has not been publicly confirmed in every case.

For millions of followers, online creators can become familiar presences through daily videos, livestreams and personal updates. Their deaths can resonate far beyond their families and friends. The growing list raises questions about the pressures and risks faced by people whose careers unfold in public, but it would be premature to attribute the deaths to a single factor or conclude that they represent a measurable trend without reliable comparative data.
