SCOTRUN, PA. (THECOUNT) — Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, of Towanda, Pennsylvania, has been charged with two counts of criminal homicide in the fatal stabbing of her 36-year-old husband, Charles “Chaz” Harrison, and their 3-year-old son inside a room at Great Wolf Lodge in Monroe County’s Pocono Mountains.
Pocono Township police responded to Room 2030 at the resort in Scotrun shortly after 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, after Metallica Harrison called 911 and said she wanted to die, according to a criminal complaint and affidavit. Officers found Metallica Harrison injured at the doorway and discovered her husband and son dead inside.

According to the affidavit, Metallica Harrison told officers she wanted to be with her husband and child. Charles Harrison was found on a mattress on the floor with multiple stab wounds to the chest. The boy was found on a separate mattress nearby with what appeared to be a single stab wound to the chest.
Investigators recovered a large butcher knife on the bathroom floor and a smaller knife on the bathroom sink. Both had teal-green handles. Resort staff told police the knives were not the type kept by Great Wolf Lodge, according to the affidavit.
During the 911 call, Metallica Harrison reportedly said her husband and son were “already gone” and apologized. The affidavit states she did not ask for help for either of them during the call.
Metallica Harrison was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital–Monroe Campus in Stroudsburg for treatment. While being transported, she told an officer, “It wasn’t supposed to end like this. I was supposed to have my happy family,” according to the affidavit.
The family had checked into the resort on Sept. 21 and extended its reservation on Oct. 5, with checkout scheduled for Oct. 13. Surveillance footage reviewed by investigators showed the family entering the room together around 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11. Metallica Harrison later left briefly to use a microwave in the vending area, then went with her husband to the arcade at about 10:45 p.m. They returned around 11:20 p.m. Investigators reported that surveillance showed no one entering or leaving the room after that time.
At the hospital, Metallica Harrison declined to answer detectives’ questions after being advised of her Miranda rights. She told them she was “suicidal, not stupid,” according to the affidavit. Detectives reported finding no defensive wounds or bruising beyond Metallica Harrison’s own injuries.
The charges were filed Tuesday, Oct. 13, after the criminal complaint was approved by the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office and submitted before Magisterial District Judge Daniel Kresge. The investigation remains ongoing, and the allegations have not been proven in court.
Police described the incident as an isolated domestic tragedy and said there was no threat to the wider community. Great Wolf Lodge said it was cooperating with law enforcement and expressed condolences to those affected.
Scotrun is an unincorporated community in Pocono Township, Monroe County, in northeastern Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains region. The resort is located at 1 Great Wolf Drive, near Tannersville and the broader Stroudsburg area.
