JOINT BASE MDL, NJ. (THECOUNT) — Rapper and music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs was reportedly taken by ambulance from federal prison early Saturday after suffering a head injury, then returned to the facility before sunrise, according to a report by TMZ.
Sources at Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix in New Jersey said that an ambulance left the prison at approximately 1 a.m. Saturday, October 10, to take Combs for medical treatment. The hospital where he may have been treated has not been confirmed, and the circumstances that led to the injury remain unknown.

According to the report, Combs was conscious and speaking when he returned to the prison. The injury was described as not life-threatening, although no official medical details have been released.
The reported medical emergency comes amid renewed attention to Combs’ conditions behind bars. In late September, reports about alleged special privileges at the facility—including massages, alcohol and access to a contraband cellphone—were followed by reports that he had been placed in the prison’s Special Housing Unit, commonly known as solitary confinement.
Combs was also reported to have been involved in a fight with another inmate in July, after which he was placed in solitary confinement. The circumstances of Saturday’s head injury have not been linked to that earlier incident in the available reporting.
Combs is serving a 50-month federal sentence after his 2025 conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy charges. His projected release date has reportedly been moved from January 2028 to March 2028.
FCI Fort Dix is a federal correctional institution at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in Burlington County, central New Jersey, in the broader Philadelphia metropolitan region.
