ORLANDO, FL. (THECOUNT) — A visit to Walt Disney World is getting more expensive after the theme park resort quietly raised prices on select admission tickets, annual passes and premium line-skipping services, pushing the cost of a peak-date, one-day Park Hopper visit above $300 after taxes and fees.

The latest increases took effect Oct. 6, with the top-tier Incredi-Pass annual membership climbing $120 to $1,749. The price changes come as families continue to face rising vacation costs, including admission, lodging, transportation, food and add-on experiences.

A peak-date Park Hopper ticket, which allows guests to visit multiple Disney World theme parks in one day, can reach a reported checkout total of $301.40 after taxes and fees. The advertised price is lower, but the final amount illustrates how quickly a single day at the resort can become a major expense.

Single-day, one-park admission has also become more expensive on select dates. The highest-priced ticket for Magic Kingdom will reach $229 before tax on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve in 2027, up from the previous peak price of $219.

Disney’s premium Lightning Lane Premier Pass, which provides expedited access to eligible attractions, also saw its maximum price rise by $50, from $449 to $499 per person per day. The price varies by date and park, and the Premier Pass is separate from regular park admission.

Annual pass increases affected all four Walt Disney World tiers. The Florida-resident Pixie Dust Pass rose $10 to $499, while the Pirate Pass increased $40 to $909. The Sorcerer Pass, available to eligible Florida residents and Disney Vacation Club members, climbed $40 to $1,139.

The Incredi-Pass, available to guests regardless of state residency, received the largest increase, rising from $1,629 to $1,749. The pass permits holders to make up to five theme park reservations at a time, subject to Disney’s rules and availability, with additional reservation allowances for qualifying stays at Disney resort hotels.

Not every admission option increased. One-day tickets for Disney’s Animal Kingdom still begin at a lower price on less expensive dates, while the cost of admission varies according to the park, date and ticket type. Guests should check Disney’s official calendar before choosing travel dates because the lowest advertised prices are not available every day.

Disney is also testing an artificial intelligence-powered tool on its website to help visitors identify less expensive dates. The feature responds to questions such as, “What are the cheapest dates to visit?” as the company attempts to help budget-conscious guests navigate its date-based pricing system.

At Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, the latest price changes were more limited. The least expensive one-day ticket remains $104, a starting price that has held since 2019. However, select mid-tier one-day tickets increased by $5, while Park Hopper and other add-on prices also changed.

Disney’s newly released late-2027 calendar includes peak one-day, one-park prices of $229 for Magic Kingdom on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve. Those dates represent a $20 increase over the $209 price for the comparable 2026 holiday dates.

The increases have prompted criticism from some Disney fans online, particularly those who say the full cost of a trip extends far beyond admission. One Reddit commenter argued that the parks are increasingly out of reach for ordinary working families, while another described planning a trip for two people — including flights, two hotel nights, Park Hopper tickets and Lightning Lane access — that would cost about $2,000 before local transportation, meals and merchandise.

Disney visitors looking to limit expenses can compare date-based ticket prices on the company’s official website and consider visiting during lower-demand periods. However, lodging, transportation, food and optional line-skipping services can add substantially to the total cost of a trip.

Walt Disney World is located in the Orlando metropolitan area of Central Florida, while Disneyland Resort is in Anaheim, Orange County, in Southern California’s greater Los Angeles region.
