DOUGLASVILLE, GA. (THECOUNT) — Abdul Hakeem Rasheed, 26, is facing charges after authorities say he called 911 from a Red Lobster in Douglasville on Sept. 24 and falsely claimed to be ill in an alleged attempt to avoid paying a $63.77 restaurant bill.
According to authorities, Rasheed had finished his meal at the restaurant on Bill Arp Road when the bill came due. He allegedly called 911 and requested medical assistance, prompting a response from law enforcement.

Responding officers determined Rasheed was not experiencing a medical emergency, according to authorities, and the incident instead resulted in criminal charges.
Douglas County jail records show Rasheed is charged with theft of services and unlawful conduct during a 911 call. His combined bond is $4,500.
Some initial reports also referenced a false-report charge, but the Douglas County jail records cited in subsequent reporting list the two charges of theft of services and unlawful conduct during a 911 call.
The Red Lobster is located at 3100 Bill Arp Road near Highway 5 and Interstate 20, about 20 miles west of downtown Atlanta. Douglasville, the county seat of Douglas County, is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area.
Rasheed is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
