ALDIE, VA. (THECOUNT) — Roger Paul Bradford, 60, has been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of his wife, Lisa Arquette Bradford, 54, during what authorities described as a domestic incident at a home in Aldie, Loudoun County, Virginia. Paul Bradford was also charged with using a firearm in the commission of a felony.
According to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a residence in the 24000 block of Quimby Oaks Place after a relative contacted 911. The relative had reportedly received a call from Paul Bradford, who allegedly advised them of the circumstances before leaving the scene in a rental vehicle.

Deputies arrived at the Aldie residence and found Lisa Bradford deceased at the scene. Authorities identified the shooting as a domestic incident and began an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman said Paul Bradford left the residence after contacting a relative. The relative then notified emergency services, prompting the law enforcement response at the home.
A search for Paul Bradford extended across multiple states, including Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania State Police ultimately took him into custody at approximately 3:15 p.m., according to authorities.
In addition to the first-degree murder charge, Paul Bradford faces a charge of using a firearm in the commission of a felony. The charges are allegations, and the case remains subject to the criminal court process.
During a news conference, Sheriff Chapman described the incident as a “tragic situation” and said several children are part of the family. Chapman stated that the couple had two children attending college and another child in high school.
The sheriff also addressed questions concerning Paul Bradford’s possible criminal history. Chapman said there was “some prior criminal history of him,” but declined to provide additional details during the news conference.
When asked whether officials were aware of any previous domestic incidents at the residence, Chapman said he was not aware of any. He added that investigators would continue examining the case and gathering information.
Lisa Bradford worked as a real estate agent with Compass. According to her company biography, she had been a Realtor since 2008. Her professional profile identified her as a real estate professional serving clients in the region.
The investigation remained ongoing following Paul Bradford’s arrest in Pennsylvania. Authorities had not publicly released additional details concerning the circumstances of the shooting, the couple’s relationship or the events that preceded the reported domestic incident.
