HURON COUNTY, OH. (THECOUNT) — Chad Holbrook, of Norwalk, Ohio, has been identified as the suspect arrested in a Wednesday night fatal hit-and-run crash involving a motorcycle in Huron County.
Benjamin Curtis Conley, 46, of Norwalk, was killed in a Wednesday night hit-and-run crash.

According to reports, Holbrook was operating a Chevy pickup truck on SR-61 near Seminary Road, when the vehicle rear-ended a Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by Conley around 8:40 p.m. Wednesday.
Holbrook then fled the scene in his vehicle while dragging the bike. The bike eventually became dislodged and Holbrook continued driving for about two miles.
An off-duty deputy with the Erie County Sheriff’s Office who had witnessed the crash, followed Holbrook and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Holbrook then exited his vehicle and fled the scene on-foot.
Holbrook, who was not injured in the crash, was taken into custody about two hours later following an extensive manhunt.
He was transported to the Huron County Jail and charged with Aggravated vehicular homicide, Leaving the scene of a fatal crash, Operating a vehicle while impaired and a seatbelt violation.
Conley was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
