ORANGE COUNTY, FL. (THECOUNT) — A teen was killed in Orange County, Florida Saturday morning after falling off the Onewheel he was operating and then being run over by a passing vehicle.

The teen, who was not immediately identified, died after falling from an electric powered Onewheel, striking his head on the asphalt, and then being run over by a passing vehicle in Oviedo Saturday morning.

According to reports, the teen was traveling on the Onewheel, in the area of McCulloch Road and Shadow Creek Circle in Oviedo, when he fell off the board and hit his head on the roadway. A Dodge Charger traveling eastbound on McCulloch Road then struck the teen as he lay on the road.

The Charger driver then left the scene.

At some point, the Charger driver returned to the scene and cooperated with investigators.

According to troopers, the Charger driver told officials he felt an impact and continued driving, claiming he thought he hit an object or an animal in the roadway.

The 18-year-old Onewheel rider was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

The 22-year-old driver was not injured during the deadly incident.
