COLORADO SPRINGS, CO. (THECOUNT) — Colorado Springs Officer James “Jamie” Palaia, has been identified as the victim in a Friday fatal motorcycle crash.
Palaia, 48, was killed in a motocross crash on Friday, according to department officials.

The Colorado Springs Police Department announced the sad news on Friday, but did not provide further details on the crash.
The department wrote the following in a tweet Friday:
“It is with the deepest sadness that we must let the citizens of our city know that off-duty CSPD Officer James “Jamie” Palaia was killed in a tragic motocross accident yesterday. We ask that you take a moment to honor Jamie and to keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.”
