SHELLY, MN. (THECOUNT) — Peggy Jo Erickson, of Fertile, Minnesota, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Wednesday morning single-vehicle crash near Shelly.
Erickson, 59, was killed in a Wednesday morning crash in Polk County.

According to reports, Erickson was operating a Buick LeSabre near 170th Street and County Highway 3 in Shelly, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway Wednesday around 8 a.m. The vehicle then entered a culvert causing it to rollover on its roof.
Erickson was found deceased inside the vehicle by arriving officials.
Investigators described road conditions at the time of the crash as “unfavorable” and said the highway appeared to be covered in ice, reports BemidjiPioneer.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
