SANTA CLARA, CA. (THECOUNT) — Dr. Sara Cody, a California health official, is being ridiculed on social media Thursday after warning people not to touch their eyes, nose and mouth – Directly before licking her own fingers to turn a page in her report.
Cody, director of Santa Clara County’s Public Health Department, was issuing advice on how not to spread the coronavirus while conducting a press conference, when she incoherently licked her finger to aid her in turning a page.

“We need to begin implementing additional measures to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus, or at least slow it down as much as possible,” she told reporters. “These are the measures that we are recommending for individuals and for communities.”
