AIKEN COUNTY, SC. (THECOUNT) — Augusta, South Carolina woman, Leeanna Marie Windnagle, has been identified as the victim killed in a Wednesday morning vehicle crash in Aiken County.

Windnagle, 21, was killed after the Ford passenger van she was traveling blew a tire and crashed New Year’s Day near Aiken.

The van was traveling on I-20 in Aiken County when the vehicle’s rear tire blew out. The driver lost control, causing the vehicle to exit the left side of the interstate and collided into a tree near mile marker 14.

Windnagle was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables said in his release that several passengers in the van were transported to hospitals in Augusta, one of them in critical condition. Ms. Windnagle will be autopsied Friday in Newberry, SC, reports AugustaChronicle.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
