SAN ANTONIO, TX. (THECOUNT) — A shooting has been reported at popular San Antonio shopping mall, “The Rim,” Sunday around noon. The man suffered life-threatening injuries. The shild was uninjured.

According to San Antonio Police, a 26-year-old man and his son, 8, were inside in a white Porsche when shots rang out in the 17900 block of La Cantera Parkway, in San Antonio, Texas on Sunday.

Officials say a dark-colored vehicle pulled up and opened fire on the sports car.

SAPD said the man was shot at least once and suffered life-threatening injuries. He was taken to University Hospital and is in critical condition. The child was unharmed, but did witness the attack, reports News4.

Officers began to search for the vehicle, which they said could be either a Toyota Corolla or a Honda Civic and was last seen heading down I-10. SAPD used its helicopter to search for the suspects, but have not been able to find them yet.

La Cantera will be treated as a crime scene until further notice.

This is believed to be a targeted situation and the investigation is ongoing.
