HUNTSVILLE, AL. (THECOUNT) — Huntsville Police have arrested LaJeromeny Brown in the shooting death of Huntsville officer Billy Clardy III. The gunfire struck the officer outside of his bulletproof vest Friday night.
Brown was arrested Friday night, according to authorities.

During a news conference, police said Brown was involved in a pursuit with the STAC team, reports WHNT.
The Huntsville Police Department made the announcement that the officer shot while taking part in a drug investigation Friday, has died, according to the Chief Mark McMurray.
Earlier Friday the department said the fallen officer had served the community for almost 20 years, reports WAAYTV.
A suspect in the case is in custody.
The shooting occurred on Levert Street Northeast in Huntsville, Alabama about 4:30 p.m.
