HILLSBORO, OR. (THECOUNT) — Nabila Maazouz has been identified as the Oregon teen found dead in a Hillsboro Shute Park Aquatic & Recreation Center pool Wednesday, according to reports.

The young woman was discovered in the pool at Shute Park Aquatic & Recreation Center, where her swim team had just finished a practice, said Sgt. Eric Bunday.
The team finished its practice and had pulled the cover over the pool before anyone noticed Maazouz was missing, Bunday said. She was spotted about 30 minutes in the pool a search of the facility, reports WTPS.
Lifeguards and paramedics were not able to resuscitate her.
Maazouz was pronounced dead at the scene of drowning.
Maazouz was a freshman at the Oregon Episcopal School.
Authorities still haven’t determined if Maazouz drowned before or after the pool cover was put on the pool, officials said.
Others remember her participating in the practice, he said, so it appears she died after it was over.
“We can’t definitively say whether the cover was pulled over her while she was still in the pool or whether she went back after the fact” to get something and drowned, said the official.
