MONROE, MI. (THECOUNT) — Simba Lion has been identified as the victim in a police-involved shooting in Monroe on Tuesday, according to Wednesday morning reports.

Lion, 40, has been named as the suspect in Tuesday’s shooting that left two Monroe Police officers injured.

Lion is accused of opening fire on Monroe Police officers, who were responding to a 911 call at the Washington Arms Apartments in Monroe, reports 13ABC.

Lion was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

The names of the two officers shot were not released.

The shooting occurred at 725 Washington St, in Monroe, south of downtown Monroe, reports WXYZ.

The extent of the officers’ injuries are unknown at this time.
