FAIR PLAY, SC. (THECOUNT) — Paul Edward Knox has been identified as the victim killed in single-vehicle crash in Fair Play, South Carolina early Sunday morning, according to reports.

Knox, 33, died after a vehicle he was operating traveled off I-85 south, and rolled over Sunday morning.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Knox was operating a Chrysler 300 traveling near mile marker 2, when for unknown reasons, he crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 2:05 a.m. Sunday. The vehicle then collided with a road sign and an embankment, before rolling over.

Knox, who was the sole occupant, ejected from the vehicle during the violent collision.

The coroner says he suffered a head injury, reports FoxCarolina.

Knox was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force head trauma.

The cause of the fatal crash remains under investigation.
