ST. PAUL, MN. (THECOUNT) — Thomas Harrigan has been identified as the victim in a fatal shooting while off-duty at his place of residence on monday.

Harrigan, 36, was discovered suffering from at least one gunshot wound inside his St. Paul home on Monday night.

Officials responded to a call of shots fired at Harrigan’s home on St. Paul’s East Side just after 8:30 p.m.

Paramedics from Harrigan’s own department responded to the scene and administered unsuccessful “life-saving emergency care,” according to a death report.

Harrigan was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports Harrigan was a St. Paul firefighter since 2013. The International Association of Firefighters Local 21 says Harrigan, who was off duty, was a firefighter, paramedic and veteran, reports WDIO.

No arrests have been made and police said only that the shooting does not appear “random.”

No suspect description was provided.

No motive was proffered by officials.

No call for anyone with possible information on the case was made by investigators.
