MILLINOCKET, ME. (THECOUNT) — American Idol contestant Haley Smith passed away on Saturday at the age of 26 in a motorcycle crash, DailyMail is reporting Tuesday.
The singer’s family believes a deer might have caused the tragic accident, which occurred on a country road in Millinocket, Maine, according to reports.

The website reported that she appeared to have crashed after she failed to make a sharp turn on a road that turns from residential to a highway in certain parts.
Haley was pronounced dead at the scene, TMZ said.
The website spoke to her father, Mike Smith, following the crash, and he said that she was a good rider and ‘doubts’ she lost control of her bike, adding that deer may have played a factor.
She appeared on the singing reality show American Idol in 2012 for its 11th season at their audition in Colorado.
Haley was eliminated during the second Hollywood round.
