GULF STREAM, FL. (THECOUNT) — Rodelson Normil, the Gulf Stream, Florida high school student that went missing six years ago during hurricane Irma, has been identified as a femur bone discovered washed ashore by a family visiting the beach in 2017.
Using DNA, Police in Gulf Stream identified the bone as belonging the 17-year-old.

Police notified Rodelson Normil’s family that the bone belonged to Normil, reports NBC-2.
The University of North Texas Center for Human Identification determined the bone was Normil’s.
Detectives gathered DNA from the teen’s toothbrush, as well as from his parents, reports NBC-2.
The teen’s death certificate was signed a week ago.
