HARTFORD, CN. (THECOUNT) — Four inmates reportedly overdosed after ingesting fentanyl while inside the Hartford Correctional Center late Thursday – early Friday morning.

Correction Department officials say the inmates, whose names and ages have been released, were found suffering from fentanyl poisoning late Thursday night and early Friday morning.

Three inmates were administered Narcan and rushed to an area hospital. One inmate was in full cardiac arrest.

The pretrial holding facility is located at, 177 Weston St, in Hartford, CT.

Three have since been returned to the jail, reports CTPost.

The condition of the fourth inmates has not been released.

Officials say they are investigating to determine how the drugs made their way into the high-security jail, which primarily houses prisoners who are awaiting trial.
