SHREVEPORT, LA. – RALEIGH, NC. (THECOUNT) — An on-duty officer with the Shreveport, Louisiana Police Department was shot in the head Wednesday at a residence, and a Raleigh, North Carolina, police officer was shot in the face Wednesday night after responding to a suspicious vehicle call.
Shreveport Police confirmed that the uniformed police officer was shot in the head at a home in the 1600 block of Linwood Avenue in Shreveport.

A manhunt is underway for the suspect responsible for shooting a Raleigh officer in an incident that occurred at Schaub Drive and Teakwood Place in southwest Raleigh.
The unidentified Shreveport officer was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries, reports klfy.
The male Raleigh officer was rushed to WakeMed in unknown condition, according to abc11.
Shreveport Police say they received a shots fired call just after 8 p.m. Wednesday. The officer was not on duty at the time of the shooting but was getting prepared to report for shift at Police Headquarters. “The officer was not engaged in a call of service, and had not been dispatched to a call.” Police said. Shreveport’s Mayor and Police Chief were on scene. One person is being detained, police advised, but has not been arrested.
Shortly before 10 p.m., an ABC11 crew at the scene heard flash bangs from in the neighborhood behind us. It was unclear exactly where officers are searching but they were concentrating on an area about half a mile from the shooting scene. Raleigh area residents were being told to stay inside.
