AUDUBON, MN. (THECOUNT) — Michael Ray Eric Thomas Mason has been identified as the suspect arrested over a fatal shooting in Audubon, MN, Tuesday afternoon.

Mason, 29, was taken in custody by law enforcement officers after they responded to a call for shots fired at a residence along the 200 block of Eagle Street, in Audubon, at around 4:40 p.m.

Becker County Sheriff Todd Glander, whose department is helping to head up the investigation, along with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Audubon Police Department, said Wednesday morning that they were not ready to release the name of the victim, but the suspect is identified as MichaelRay EricThomas Mason, [sic] 29, of Audubon, who was arrested at the residence shortly following the shooting. Mason has also lived in Fergus Falls. He not yet been charged. source

Authorities from a variety of local law enforcement departments blocked off the street where the shooting occured and worked late into the night to process the scene.

It’s not Mason’s first run-in with the law. In 2009, he and another man made local headlines after they arrested over the burglary of a man’s Otter Tail County home. The homeowner shot Mason and his accomplice, Koal T. Shamp, during the incident. Mason was also arrested in 2012 for gross misdemeanor destruction of property.
