BIRMINGHAM, AL. (THECOUNT) — Edward Tyurri Matthews has been identified as the man critically wounded in a shootout on Interstate 59/20 in eastern Birmingham Sunday. He was formally pronounced dead early Sunday.
The Birmingham Police Department identified the victim as 29-year-old Matthews.

Birmingham police and fire medics responded about 3:30 p.m. to the Shell service station on Oporto-Madrid Boulevard & Fifth Avenue North. Once on the scene, they found Matthews – a passenger in an SUV – suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
He was taken to UAB hospital where he was later pronounced dead. source
