Connecticut State Police have identified two victims involved a fatal head-on crash in Barkhamsted, CT late afternoon Friday. Another man was transport to an area hospital via helicopter. His injuries were said to be life-threatening.
Authorities say, two vehicles were traveling on Route 44, in opposite directions, when the violent head-on crash occurred. Both drivers, Keith Gillespie, 61, and Devin Gilbert, 24, were pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in Gilbert’s car, Kevin Kulinski, was transported with critical injuries.
According to police, Gillespie was traveling east on Route 44 when he collided head-on with Gilbert, who was traveling westbound. Police said Gillespie and Gilbert were pronounced dead on scene. A passenger in Gilbert’s car, Kevin Kulinski, 22, of Barkhamsted, was transported by New Hartford Ambulance and then flown by LifeNet Helicopter to Hartford Hospital with life-threatening injuries. source
A diesel spill was also in play at the scene complicating the investigation.
Both drivers were operating commercial-type pickup trucks at the time of the crash.
