Court papers show Lonnberg-Lane called 911 at 4:44 a.m. on March 27 and told the dispatcher he “tried to kill everyone in the house” and needed help.

When emergency responders arrived at his home on Delaware Avenue, they found Lonnberg-Lane barefoot in the driveway outside with blood on his shirt, according to court paperwork.

Lonnberg-Lane told police he snorted what he believed to be fentanyl about an hour before the 911 call. He said he was trying to sleep but then “got up and grabbed a butter knife from the kitchen and tried to kill my dad,” according to police. source

Thomas Lane was found semi-conscious in an upstairs bedroom with stab wounds to his head, neck and arm, and a traumatic eye injury, officials said. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition and died two days later.

Lonnberg-Lane is charged with 1st- and 3rd-degree murder and possessing an instrument of crime. He is in Montgomery County prison awaiting a preliminary hearing.
