Recently engaged couple, Steven Holmes, 20, and Amber Brewer, 19, were among four people killed Monday in a two-car crash on Vermont Route 22A in Bridport.

According to Facebook, the couple got engaged in May. Amber is the mother of two young children, one of which is an infant. Steven worked as a ride operator at Belle City Amusements. Amber worked at the Dalton East Liberty Tax.

The crash scene was near North Cream Hill Road. The crash was reported about 12:40 p.m. Monday. Police believe a Volkswagen Beetle was driving northbound when it crossed the centerline striking a Ford pickup truck head-on. Officials said two men and two women in the car were pronounced dead at the scene. They were believed to have been co-workers. source

According to authorities, Holmes, of Chatsworth, Ga., Brewer, 19, of Dalton, Ga., Justin Hendrix, 38, of Bryceville, Fla., and another woman, whose identity has not been released, were pronounced dead at the crash site.

Authorities said none of the occupants were wearing seat belts.

Two other adults in the truck, Lisa Nunez, 51, of Leesburg, Fla., and Thomas Sykes, 27, of Wilmer, Ala., were taken to UVM Medical Center in Burlington to be treated for injuries described as non-life threatening.
